Weight Loss Program – I Run Three Times a Week But I Am Not Losing Weight

I Want To Lose 10 Pounds

OK, so give me some of the tips you consider to lose weight. What is your weight loss program? I want to shed about 10 pounds. I already run about 3 times per week for about 60 to 90 minutes.

Eat a Healthy Diet

If you are running three times a week you are doing well. There are three other areas to look at. First would be your diet. I lost over 30 pounds by changing my diet alone. I added a nutritional supplement to make sure I got all the vitamins and nutrients I needed, but the main change was what I ate. To eat a healthy diet I focused on eating mainly fruit and vegetables. I did not eat red meat and very little fish, chicken or turkey. I drink fresh fruit and vegetable juice once or twice a day Mellitox and I drink plenty of water.

So step one is to eat as much fresh fruit and vegetables as you can, eliminating sugar (most important thing), processed foods (white bread, white pasta, white rice, etc.) and reduce meat to no more that 10% of the calories you eat. Add more beans and nuts to your diet. (Short version)

Nutritional Supplement

Step two is to add a good nutritional supplement to your diet. You should start with a cleanse. I lost 8 pounds on the cleanse alone. Now the first time I did a cleanse it was the Master Cleanse. The Master Cleanse is a fast of Lemons, Natural Syrup, and Cayenne pepper for ten days with only that and water. This cleans the impurities from your system. Though the Master Cleanse works, I no longer do it. For it is a fast for 10 days and I question the fact that it has all the vitamins and nutrients you need. So when I cleanse (once a quarter) I use an Herbal Cleanse. For $31.50 it was cheaper than the Master Cleanse and you are not on a fast. Another option is a fresh fruit and vegetable juice fast. I have done this also and it is very effective. It works well with fresh or frozen fruit and vegetables.

After you cleanse (or fast) for 10 days you must make sure you eat to lose weight and keep it off. Eat 5 to 6 meals a day. They should be smaller meals than you might be used to. Start with a good breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Eat six meals every day. Fruit, vegetables or nuts to serve as snacks. Drink plenty of water, no soda (diet or otherwise) and watch what you eat. There is no need to count calories. You can eat as much fruit and vegetables as you want. Just eat less per setting. Breakfast is the most important meal. I may have a meal replacement shake (a nutrition supplement), or a piece of fruit with a fresh fruit and vegetable juice drink if I cannot cook and am in a hurry.

Resistance Exercise

Finally step three pulls it all together. It is good that you are running regularly. I said I lost 30 pounds by eating a healthy diet and a good nutritional supplement. I hit a plateau there. I was stuck until I added resistance exercise to my weight loss program. In a month I lost another 10 pounds. Basically, I just do pushups for resistance training. Sure I have a total gym in the basement and may get on it once a week. But, I am on my elliptical 3-4 times a week and I do about 200 pushups a day. I also work out once or twice a week with the online personal trainer.
