The new MSHRM program joins Strayer’s BBA-HR and MBA-HR programs in being recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management – the world’s largest HR management association – for aligning with their guidelines on degree granting programs. The curriculum covers a great deal of the content in the PHR and SPHR certification exams, however program completion does not guarantee any SHRM certification.

Within this new degree program, two concentrations are offered for students so that they are able to focus on their individual career objectives. The concentration in Human Resource Generalist provides credit hours in Talent Management, Employee and Labor Relations, and Performance Management. The Human Resource and Organizational Development concentration offers course options, including Managing Organizational Change, Developing Human Capital, and Human Resource Management Consulting.

Courses required for this degree cover topics such as ethics, human resource information systems, employment law, strategic human resource management, and leadership and organizational behavior. A minimum of 54 total credit hours is required to complete the MSHRM program.
