The market for supplemental vitamins has grown to $39 billion and continues to grow. Nearly half of U.S. adults, 70% of older adults (age 71+), take a supplement vitamin. A third of them use a comprehensive multivitamin. But is this really a necessity for us?

Look for a pill that has the United States Pharmacopeia Seal of Approval. The USP also runs tests to verify that the pill does not contain contaminants such as heavy metals or pesticides.
